It's time.

I can't believe it's finally here!! Football season has begun!  Sadly, not much to blog about this week. The first week of games were mostly fluff games with giant teams facing extreme underdogs - I'm looking at you Oklahoma State bravely facing...Savannah State?  84-0! geez.

No big upsets really happened. The biggest loss from a top 25 team was probably Boise State - losing to Michigan State 17-13.  Also, randomly playing at Cowboy Stadium, now ranked #1 Alabama handed it to Michigan with a 41-14 win, dropping Michigan from #8 to #19.

A few valiant efforts were made:
-Northern Iowa coming back and almost catching #13 Wisconsin.
-UTEP hung with OU up until the 4th quarter when OU stepped it up to win 24-7. I'll be interested to see if this is any indication of the season OU will have.
-I have to give a shout out for my friend Erin's alma mater, Arkansas State, at least getting quite a few points on the board up against #4 Oregon.

Hopefully next week will bring some more interesting highlights.  And, of course, my precious Horned Frogs will have their home and season opener in the new Amon Carter Stadium against Grambling State. I. Can't. Wait.

  1. Any concerns about losing Tanner and those other drug busted dudes?

  2. Definitely a concern, we are still a younger team overall as well. However, I think the main trial isn't so much the roster as it will be the schedule...especially on down the stretch when we face West Virginia, Kansas State, UT, and OU in the last few weeks of the season.
